Bernard Madoff interview from prison

Bernard Madoff who was behind the world’s biggest Ponzi fraud, has revealed in an interview with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Inspector General David Kotz, how he got away with the fraud for so long.

Madoff giving the interview from behind bars, pointed out SEC’s unfocused and casual attitude, the fraudster was quoted as saying, “It never entered the SEC’s mind that it was a Ponzi scheme because of the reputation I had”. Madoff had managed to keep his multi Billion Dollar fraud operation concealed from the authorities for a considerable length of time.

Madoff, was regarded as a financial genius all over the world. He was even the NASDAQ Chairman for quite sometime. Although the US securities investigators had, more than once, raised doubts over Madoff’s intentions, nothing concrete had been done about it. With the fraudster now behind bars, everyone is expecting SEC to be better equipped in future. The question now is, what happens to Madoff now?
