Bank of America: Robert Kelly shows no interest in CEO job

The Wall Street Journal reports that Robert Kelly the Bank of New York Mellon Corp Chief Executive had been approached about the job for Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) as their CEO, however he has shown no interest.

Kenneth Lewis, who will retire at the end of this year, BOA wants Kelly to be his successor and he has been approached on more than one occasion. Some Bank of America stakeholders and regulators are pushing the board’s search committee to look outside the company for the next CEO; however it seems candidates have fallen short of the board’s hopes or were not interested, the paper reported on its website.

BOA Chief Risk Officer Gregory Curl and small-business banking head Brian Moynihan are two candidates that are now top of the list sources told the Journal. The search committee is not expected to make a decision until the end of this week at the earliest.
