FTSE 100 Slow Start: HBOS and Lloyds TSB Gain

In London this morning the FTSE 100 index has been extremely slow, something brokers have not seen for quite a while. Everyone has the eye on the FTSE today hoping that it will reach 4262 if it does then it will mean we saw the biggest weekly gain ever on the FTSE 100. Early this morning it rose to 4257.95 although it reteated shortly after.

We have Monday with its record-breaking gains to thanks, when the FTSE 100 shot up almost 10 percent.

Wall Street was closed yesterday due to thanksgiving celebrations in the US this being another reason why everything is so slow today.

Lloyds TSB saw a gain of 5.1p to 169.1p with the share price heading closer towards the sale price of 173.3p which the UK government will be buying them at, meanwhile HBOS rose 3.3p to 96.3p although the share price as a little way to go before it reaches the 113.6p governments price.

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) shares declined on news that the government will be taking a 57.9 percent share in the bank, falling 0.3p to 54.7p this morning.
