Good news on Wall Street with the Dow Jones Industrial average swinging right at the last 90 minutes almost 480 points. The last surge saw the Dow Jones closing at 8979.26 after gaining 401.35 or 4.7 percent.

Traders said that the stocks attracted an influx of bargain investors seeing what they can pick up after an historic tumble. But it’s not clear if the recent declines will be a thing of the past.

Nasdaq Composite Index that is technology focused had its largest percentage gain this year, shooting up 5.5 percent and closing at 1717.71. Meanwhile small-stock Russell 2000 rocketed up 6.9 percent to 536.57 which was the biggest daily gain in its history.

The S&P 500 gained 4.3 percent closing at 946.43 this was a far cry from Wednesday when it dropped the hardest since 1987 big crash.
