Barack Obama leads the way in presidential race

Barack Obama opened with solid leads in four key states’. Obama is getting votes from the white working class according to results showed in the most recent polls. Up until now, Obama has nationally in the electrical college failed to show significant lead, where either candidate must win 270 votes to take the White House. Now there is a new system In place for the presidential election that can see the candidate win the popular ballot but can still lose the presidential race due to the allocation of votes per state.

Both Wall Street Journal and washingtonpost.com show Barack Obama leading the way in Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin and Colorado, within this state’s together they hold 46 Electoral College votes. The latest poll was from the Quinnipiac University.

It wasn’t that long ago when Barack Obama only held statistically insignificant leads in Michigan, Minnesota and Colorado, but as American people have become increasingly worried about the economy Obama has widened his advantage to nine, 11 and 16 points respectively. Obama also doubled his seven-point edge in Wisconsin.
