As the United States wait in anticipation for the vice presidential debate between Republican Sarah Palin and her Democratic rival Joseph Biden to begin, doubts esculate as to whether John McCain’s choice off running mate is experienced enough to help lead the country.
Both Palin and Biden have spent several days secluded from the public eye preparing for their only debate in the White House race, the VP debate will be seen on public television and journalist Gwen Ifill from PBS will be leading the debate.
The debate will last 90 minutes and in that time they will be asked questions whilst standing behind two podiums from Ifill, the two candidates will not be allowed to have direct exchange with each other, the debate is expected to attract millions of viewers. John McCain has defented Palin all the way, saying she has great inner strength.
Palin who has slipped-up lately when interviewed on foreign policy has raised concerns amongst the American people. She has also been ridiculed for some of the answers she has given such as referring Alaska’s proximity to Russia and Canada as valid foreign policy experience.
Biden on the other hand is known to waffle on but has done lots of high-profile debates with his 35 years in the Senate. Palin will be the second woman ever in US history to take part in the vice presidential debate the first being Democrat Geraldine Ferraro against Republican George Bush in 1984.
