US mortgage rate increased an average of 0.25 percent on Tuesday

US mortgage rate increased an average of 0.25 percent on a 30-year mortgage with no upfront points to 5.78 percent on Tuesday according to BestInfo Inc.

Included in the rate rise, was the 30-year mortgage rate with one upfront point which also rose 0.25 percent to 5.58 percent, as well as the 30-year mortgage rate with two upfront points also shot up 0.25 percent to 5.38 percent.
