Mortgages payment: top concern in UK according to Abbey

Research by Abbey shows that being able to pay your mortgage and rising fuel bills are the top concerns for UK homeowners. When asked what the most important priority, 41 percent of people polled said it was paying their monthly bills.

This was much higher than people who said their main concern is work/life balance which was at 13 percent and a nice home which was at 11 percent. 3.7 million Mortgage holders said that mortgage repayments were their top concern, it’s clear that the economic worries are of great concern to everyone and these Abbey study reflects that.

Similar findings have been reflected in reports from Lloyds TSB corporate Markets Business Barometer. The overall economic prospect found from the survey was that businesses expecting an increase of activity in the coming year were only 24 percent.
