FDIC IndyMac Banks seeing large withdrawals of cash
Jul 16, 2008 | Comments 0

Looks like customers of IndyMac Banks are seeing customers making large withdrawals of cash since the FDIC takeover. Los Angeles police had to be sent to two branches on Tuesday as customers started to cut lines as tempers flared.
The San Francisco Chronicle say that IndyMac is not the first and will not be the last bank to be seized by the FDIC; this has now got customers of many U.S. banks worried.
I can understand how customers of such banks like IndyMac would be worried, but with the FDIC taking control of the bank, customers money is safe, so should try and not worry and start taking out their cash.
If customers are taking all of their cash out, then this is only adding to the problems of the troubled banks.
You have to remember that as the FDIC have taken control, it is now the taxpayer who will have to foot the bill if IndyMac go down, and the fastest way for this to happen is if customers start withdrawing all of their cash.
